Where to buy engine mount stretch bolts?
« on: January 20, 2016, 06:10:54 pm »
Any Ideas where I can get the two 18mm and two 16mm headed engine mount stretch bolts?

Rung VW but they can apparently only order them in sets of 10 or something and want to charge me £79 for it!   :congrats:
Getting the cambelt done and want these replaced at the same time. Thanks.

Try another dealer.

I did my cam belt about a year ago and the prices/part numbers were as below from the main VW dealership:

6 off Crankshaft vibration damper pulley bolts 911 439 01 £0.48 each

2 off Engine mount bolts (joins two pieces)  105 524 02 £2.87 each

1 off Fixed mount to bulkhead   905 969 06 £4.87 each

1 off Fixed mount to bulkhead   910 296 02 £4.70 each

2 off small engine mount bracket 019 502 13 £0.58 each

Honestly sack the dealers off. They are a rip off. Go straight to TPS as they supply vw/audi/seat/skoda with the parts anyway, your just cutting out the middle man!

Is TPS not trade only? How would I buy as a consumer.

Not as far as I am aware. They sell to the general public aswell. Occasionally I get asked when ordering parts "do you have a trade account?", to which I answer no. I think the only difference is the amount of discount they can give you or maybe something to do with tax. The best option is to order parts through a garage (who obviously have a trade account with them) if your friendly with any mechanics? Either way they are cheaper than the stealerships!
