Im getting some goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyres next week. £80 per tyre fitted from f1 autocentre.

Was going to go hankooks but decided that £15 more for goodyears isnt bad

Iv got the mpss and probably won't be getting them again, there almost done and less than 10k miles on them. And for best part of £500 that's just not for me .

For £500 I rekon I could get 2 sets of 4 tyres , the rain sport3's for the winter and a Khumo semi slick for the summer/track time

Interesting point. I find my Supersports good in dry and wet, but not great when it's cold, regardless of how wet the road is.

I might look into a summer set and a winter set too.

Because the Pilot Super Sports are infinetly better than Uniroyal Rainsport 3 in anything other than very very cold very very wet conditions?
The rainsport 3 are not a bad tyre. But they are nowhere near as good wet or dry as say an Eagle F1 assymetric 2.

Nice to see that you've gone with F1 Autocentre mate - I couldn't fault them and they were the cheapest for my recent set of Eagle F1's @ just under £80 per tyre fitted.

 but what I was getting at is for the amount of money they cost (MPSS) vs longevity ,you could have 2 full sets of boots that will last twice as long for the same cash,and be more suitable for our lovely British weather,and I'd hazard a guess the Khumho semi slick might just trump the MPSS around a track,maybe not for feel but out right grip ,and the URRS3 will probably out perform it in the wet .

was really just another angle, rather than the default MPSS,GYasym2, etc etc

I just picked up 4 x 225/40/18 goodyear eagle F1 assymetric 3 from tyreleader.ie for €109 each and oponeo.ie are doing €112

My front pair of Eagle F1 Assysmetric 2s are down to 2mm in under 10K but at the end of the day, in a high performance hatchback, I'd sooner have grip than long life.  MPSS - brilliant turn-in, stiff sidewalls, nice feedback.  Rainsport - soggy, uninspiring, no feedback.

I got 30-35k out of some eagle f1 asy2 lol.
I did rotate at about 3.5mm left on the front but can't see how any gets 10k from one pair

I had a pair doing 12,5k miles on the front and 35k on the rear in my GT Sport with 1,8 mm left when I removed them. Can't fault the tyres.

@Pudding Do you do a lot of wheelspins or hard corners (I like to think I do some hard cornering frequently but maybe I'm not that aggressive driving...)?

God yeah, I give the car death regularly     That's why I keep banging on about the F1s not being my cup of tea.  The sidewalls aren't stiff enough for my tastes, which makes the front feel a bit wishy washy when pressing on.  They do grip through the bends well though.  Traction is a bit pants, but then again I can't expect that to be brilliant with a mapped ED30 and an open diff!

30-35K from a set of tyres is epic!!  I don't think I could ever achieve that, in ANY car!
