Mine needed the torque limiter changed to make remap work well. The box was "cutting" the ignition timing, preventing the engine to make more power and torque.
Ahh I see, thanks.
Once your car DSG has been mapped is there any change is tone? just curious
The engine sounds raspier and quicker to respond to the throttle input but I think that it's just related to the increased boost and fuelling, nothing related to the DSG remap itself.
I had a full set of Revo engine mounts done and that changed power delivery and engine noise in the car. You can feel the engine vibrations (only just) through your fingers on the wheel at idle. The engine is restrained in it's mounts so there is no inertia generated by soft mounts to overcome when on the throttle. These engines move around a lot on stock mounts. On a modified car that's
driven OE mounts are worked very hard. The noise in the cabin is very addictive, creates a 'growly' engine noise. I love it, some may not. Car is very sharp on the throttle though.
