GTI Edition 30
« on: January 28, 2016, 10:58:11 pm »
Hello Gents,

I have recently purchased a 57 plate Edition 30. It's being repaired at the moment but when i get it back i would like to up-grade the standard head unit, main reason so i can hook my phone up to the head unit for calls. I don't want to spend £££££'s really but it has the very basic and standard unit. Will the RNS510 unit fit staright in (plug and play) if purchased from the likes of Ebay for instance? Any advice on this would be greeatly recieved!

Regards

Ryan

Hi Ryan, yes direct plug and play. The RNS 510 does not have bluetooth fitted in so you will have to buy the module seperately

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Is the bluetooth module easy to get hold of and fit?
Best regards

Ryan

Yeah, it's easy to get the BT module. I think you'll be able to find a couple of sellers in the Classifieds. You can get it from ebay and carsystems.pl too.

Not hard to fit but you'll have to know how to dismantle part of the interior to pass the wires.

Thanks for the info gents!

I have been thinking about an Andoid unit. I have had a look at a couple of posts. What is the general consensus around the Android units? Good, bad or ugly.....?
