BCS Powervalve boost tap
« on: January 31, 2016, 07:57:57 pm »
O.k i think i know what the answer to this is going to be but i thought i'd ask.

I bought a second hand BCS powervalve for my mk6 R and had a "specialist" near me fit it. I gave them the forge boost tap and the 3m or so of tubber hose to connect it.

My dad got the car back for me but he said the bloke who fitted it said hes plumbed it in to something under the rear bench and it doesnt need to go to the front engine bay. Im 90% sure it should be plumbed in to the provided valve as thats how BCS sell it?

Car sounds better but it sort of sounds like a remapped diesel under WOT. Like the valves not open and its staying quiet. Not had chance to jack it up but i will on wednesday.

I'm worried what hes connected it to.

Can someones shed some light on this for me?

The Powervalve system connects to a Forge boost tap in the intake manifold.

I would bet it's the filler neck drain, or the tank breather tube..... Either way it's 100% not right and HAS to go to something in the engine bay. There is no boost pressure anywhere behind the firewall

As already stated  - the PV system must be plugged into the inlet via the auxiliary Forge take off valve.

Send me an email nige@powervalve.co.uk and I'll send you the full fitting instructions...

Cheers

You replied so i'm guessing it eventually went through!

I'll get it plumbed in properly this weekend!

Thanks for the help :happy2:
