« on: February 02, 2016, 08:53:58 pm »
I've looked high and low and still can't find a decent guide of how to do the skyline light mod to standard non LED rear lights....

Yeah I've seen that one.. It looks like a half hearted unfinished attempt.. Was hoping someone on here had made a better job/ guide?

It's a tough one to crack as I opened my inside non led lights and was hoping to whack some led rings in but changed my mind after losing my job. that's the only way I can see the skyline mod working buy then you'll have an error on the dash pod.

Outer lights would be of the same imo as I can't see anything else working exactly how the skyline is.

There's a chappy called MateyGuv on YouTube that did one look here

I'm not wanting to fit led rings, I just want to fit some bulbs to the inner hatch lights..

You'll need to tap them into your outer lights. if you need a hand I'll be happy to help with the wiring part  I'm in London for FOC

I tapped mine into the number plate lights wire that runs on the driver side rear boot area.

I followed mateyguvs guide and had no error lights on dash, i tigersealed mine 3 times and they held on fine.  Took them off after them being on for 7months and a bit of the Tiger seal started to come apart and resealed them again and just fitted them back on today. Seem stronger than before but time will tell.

Only minor issue i have is that when i have my lights on and i have the FM  radio on, theres a small cracking noise.

More pics in my build thread.  I think i have some pics of where i split it too. Ill see if i can upload

A guy on facebook makes the Skyline mod rear inner lights and sells them. I bought a set off him for £70.00 for my ed30 and he does it for the GTI's aswell. You dont need to exchange your old inner lights either so you get to keep them.

He sends you the inners out with everything fitted and sealed already with a wiring loom coming out of them. I ran the loom straight to the number plate bulb loom in the right side of the boot.

Any chance of a linky buddy? I darent spend too long cruising facebook at work - they ARE watching!

Assume this mod gives the lit inners, like a mk 6?
Have often wished for a better lit rear end when on the M6!
