Car not starting after loss of power - fault codes
« on: January 30, 2016, 09:03:03 am »
Issues started yesterday after a long drive. Car was working fine, stopped and had trouble starting the car, I had to pump the accelerator to get it going, car seems judder and not quite right.
Started again this morning with a bit of prompting, and drove home, but juddery and no real power! (felt like a 1.4 trying to overtake). engine didn't seem to be miss firing or running rough.

Got home, turnt the car off and tried to restart and it just turns over not starting at all. (battery full, starter turning over).

Scanned using Carista (not a full VAGCOM system) and I get the following errors:

Engine:
Part #: 1K0907115
Component: 2.0l R4/4V TFSI
Coding: 0403000318070060 (hex)
Fault codes:
P0441 Evaporative (EVAP) Emission Control System, Incorrect Flow
P0322 Engine Speed Sensor (G28), No Signal

Cleared the codes to see if I could trick the car into starting and now have the following faults, and the car still wont start:

Engine:
P0322 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28), No Signal
P0322 - Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal

Any advise on where to start?
Speed Sensor (crank sensor), PCV, DV all changed in the past 1,000 miles.

Hello sorry to hear you're having issues mate.

As per rosstech fault codes below.

Possible causes of OBD code P0322
- Loose wires/connectors - Faulty Crank Position Sensors - Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, wires and plugs) - Low battery charge - Powertrain Control Module (PCM) The Error code is generally activated on detection of the following conditions: The P0322 code is triggered when no signal is detected.

Possible Solutions- Resecure loose wire or connectors - If battery charge is low, recharge or replaced battery - Replaced crank position sensor - Replaced starter motor

Just found out the G28 also relates to the Crankshaft sensor.
