engine dress up
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:30:40 pm »
I go to alot of car shows with my golf but im wanting to do something with the engine bay to make it worthy of having the bonnet up.

Anybody know what there is o  the market to improve the gti engine bay?  I have an evoms intake so not running the cover at the moment.

Any pics of your engine bays would be appreciated to give me insperation haha

Cheers

I have an intake too and thinking about getting a second engine cover as looks so much better with one. Only have to cut it a bit and should fit on.

the engine cover off an Audi TTS  looks quite nice without having to cut anything.

I managed to get the cover and front screw easily enough from a local TPS. The rear two screws were a nightmare and I ended up driving across London to collect a set. Certainly not cheap for what they are.

Decent quality hose kit in what ever colour you want usually looks good. Can get abit pricey and look abit much if you plan on changing pretty much all hoses.

I think mk5 engine bays look better with no engine cover personally.

A good deep clean then spray over with autoglym tyre dressing always makes them look really well I've found.

Removal of the oil filler neck looks good

Red coil packs

And then you could always get some bits hydro dipped? The original rocker cover hydro dipped in carbon maybe?

Just a couple of ideas there anyway.

A bit of a negative post but they look crap, you can tart them up to look shinier and add gold tape to pipes but lots of plastic covers,a 4.2 v8 is worthy of having your bonnet open but sadly not ours imho

My S5 screen saver for the past two years
Road tax for that car in 2014 costed £850 as I looked at the tax disc  :surprised:
