How much for genuine 18" monzas
« on: February 06, 2016, 09:19:45 pm »
Looking at selling my genuine 18" inch Monza rims off my mk5 gti. 2 have a little curb rash and the other 2 are in mint condition. How much should I be asking for each wheel? £100 a rim? Or more?

Thanks

I got rid of mine for £150 all 4  :signLOL: the guy that sold me the car curbed the sh*t out of them so had to get rid of it and buy myself some new rims.

Considering that it costs £100 per wheel to get rid of the white worm, they're not worth much. Simply because it just comes back after a year if you go for the diamond cut finish.

I was considering buying two Monzas but I'd rather just wait until the summer and buy some BBS rims. Unless you're offloading two at a good price

I sold mine for £600 with decent tyres, refurbished in Audi titanium (£200 for the refurb of all 4 because I'd given the refurb guy a fair bit of business).

^ This. They're just not suited to UK road conditions. A mild/warm Mediterranean climate where they don't use grit on the roads is where they should be.

Not sure about this  the back rims have been on the car 12 years and are in mint condition

You must have a secret, because even the wheel refurbishers that I went to said it won't last over a year.

When they're finished in one colour, i.e., powdercoated, they'll last as long as any other alloy.

This and the fact diamond cutting is so expensive really drops the value of a wonderful alloy.

I sold mine with no tyres for £200 and that was a struggle.

Mine are going up for about £150 once I've found something to replace them with.
They've previously been painted though.

I thought it was a fair price tbh. The rims are in good condition and are genuine.
