Tips for buying a Caddy
« on: February 13, 2016, 03:51:12 pm »
A friend has asked me to help them find a family runabout that they can also use for a small catering business they are starting.

I mentioned a touran or a caddy think they prefer the caddy as its a little more professional for the business.

They have a budget of €10,000, would be easy to find something nice in the UK. Spain could be a challenge.

I like the look of this one but high mileage.

Any tips, pointers would be appreciated.

The 1.6 in a van is pill and more so as the 1.6 still have issues with the HPFP  - if he insist on it,the least you can do is check the fuel filter and look for metal flakes of swarf on top of the fuel filter - if the fuel is dirty use a magnet.

I find the 1.9 is a good workhorse but if I remember correctly there's a none turbo version which kills it.
