Hi all, newbie from Newcastle!
« on: March 09, 2016, 06:22:58 pm »
Areet! Am Michael from Newcastle, just purchased a gti last week, really happy with it so far apart from a few little things.
Need some help/advice as I have come from NA engines in renaultsports I'm unsure if the gti is just not as quick or if there is something holding mine back, I've changed the Dv valve to rev D, not had a chance to check cam follower yet but would that affect performance? My old 197 and 182 feel quicker than the gti and I'm struggling to find the 'boost' back to the seat kind of feeling. Is there anything else that would affect performance?
Cheers!

Hey! No probs mate, I can't really tell if it's just cause I'm used to quick ish cars or if their is something wrong. One thing actually is I've got it back at the garage because the temp gauge fluctuates and takes ages to get up to temp, obviously a don't put me foot down til it's warm but that could have an effect, I haven't really being pushing on at all until I get the thermostat checked/changed so I might get a better feeling after that's been done!
