R headlights
Chris92:
Why do some golf mk6 r's come with sliver bits in the headlight and others are all black? Years ago I read because it depends if they came with 18 or 19" alloys, 18" wheels came with the sliver headlights and all black lights were fitted to the cars with 19" wheel. This true?
Shoduchi:
AFAIK all R have black headlights from factory. Maybe the other cars had them retrofitted?

They definitely ain't, some have all black and the others are black but with sliver inside. When searching they seem pretty much 50/50 on which ones they have fitted.

I don't believe it was anything to do with wheel size/colour.
The early models of the generation came with chrome housings. From around 11 onwards they all came with black as standard I'm pretty sure.

I've seen 12plates with the sliver bits in lights. So don't think it's to do with age.
