Few faults with my mk5 gti
« on: February 21, 2016, 02:57:55 pm »
I've got a 2005 mk5 gti which I've had for a few months now
But there are a few things that are starting to bug me

The 1st thing is with my drivers seat, only the bottom half of the heated seat heats up, is there a way this could be fixed ?

And the other thing is my front bumper is hanging low on 1 side, I'll add a picture of it below

Left side looks ok

And here is the right side where there is a larger gap

If I pull the bottom of the bumper up under the the light it lines up
Any ideas

Hi mate. for the seat Base you'll require a new heating pad as the one you have must be faulty.

As for the bumper, check the screws holding it up as they're either loose or mounting on bumper is damaged and bumper is slipping off.

Let us know.

Thanx for the reply mate, the strange thing with the seat is the bit you sit on works it's only the top half that doesn't heat up, is it an easy job to fix ?
I'm looking in to getting a s3 intercooler soon so will get it checked out when it gets fitted

No worries mate.

Sorry I must have read wrong. Then you'd need the back rest pad but check the wiring under the seat to be 100% sure it's not that then take it from there. Is it a 3 door by Any chance?. if ss it could be fractured wiring.

Before getting intercoolers and air filters I'd make sure you're mapped or ready for one as these cars are very temperamental and can drive worse with additional mods and having no MAP.  :happy2:

I'd be very careful on the dips at Nurburg as they are down hill and cut sharp before you know it  :surprised:
Good set of tyres and an anti lift kit lowered 30mm should hold you down. Advisable imho
I have an anti lift kit. yet go go 30mm low.

Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress
