I've got a Skoda fabia Vrs Special Edition. The VRS is definitely one to consider. 1.9 tdi and fairly compact so does shift
This the newer one or the squarer one?

Mate had an early fabia vrs, swapped the va for a vb, egr delete and all that, mapped up by Ben at Shark, and pulled rather well for a derv. Tidy little cars.

Yep, I like them. His was all black, ap coils, the works. Really nice car. Went well with the standard turbo and a map but really came alive in the higher gears with the 150 turbo. I think he regretted selling it actually. As it happens he ended up in a bkd mk5 that screwed its turbo!

How would a Passat 140 compare to a golf 140 if both remap? Will Passat be too heavy to benefit?

Any thoughts before this gets lost.

Why would the passat be too heavy to benefit?
The passat would be slightly slower because it's heavier but the gains would be roughly the same.

Well my 140 is a caddy, so a golf floor plan really, but..
Full of tools/ fittings so far slower than when emptied, but still rapid. :driver:

I have test drove 3 x golf 140s, 1 x a3 140 and 1 x Passat 140. The 2 golfs and a3 felt really nice and quick to drive. All 2004s regs. The 2007 golf and 2006 Passat felt sluggish compared to the previous 3 cars. The golfs and a3 I was assured they weren't remap or modified. All had turbos replaced recently.

I really like/want the Passat. I know it's bigger but there was very little response from the accelerator.

Confused.

Got another golf 140 to look at tomorrow.

Want to sort the rear badge for an oem chrome one but don't know the size???

It has a gti grille and the front number plate on the lower grille. Wanna sort that out too. And fit this grille with a gtd badge or something.

Just had a look at vauxhalls  cdti Sri 150bhp. Apparently remap to 200bhp but why are they so cheap. Seen loads for around £1k-£1.5k for 2006 models.

It'll still be a diesel Vauxhall though  :jumpmove: it'll also have a DPF at that age and there's some known problems with DMF, ERG and swirl valves. Although ever car has it's gremlins
