Hi all ,
Been lurking on the forums for a few months now and thought i'd get a thread started with details about my Edition 30. Stepped up from a very tired and old Clio 182 , the golf seemed like the right kind of car to be moving onto, with minimal work miles bar the occasional few hundred mile work trip. Bought from Andy at Volkswizard, i'm not much one for trailing the country (unless it was something really special and long term keeper) so just went with someone from reviews would supply a solid car that had been checked over properly, something I new i couldn't do!
Its a 2008 edition 30 number 2001. Bought on 78k miles with full service history and recent cambelt change. Currently completely standard, wasn't the most well specced from the factory, no xenons, highline or sun roofs here just cruise control. Does have rear cupholders and lights as and i'm sure that's part of a kit or something! Another nice little features is the dipping of the near side wing mirror when reversing, so much safer for reversing!
The paint and body work however are in great condition as is the interior, doesn't look tired for an 8 year old car. Being a manual has less reliability concerns over the auto gear box.
Work so far has been: (will keep this up to date for a record)
Replacement of the cam follower - April 16
Changed to revision G DV - April 16
Replaced the PCV - April 16
New battery - August 16, Bosch S4 096
Windscreen wipers bosch aero twins - August 16
Here are some pictures, its not skipped a beat since purchasing, had a great trip to the evo triangle , lake district and peak district so far in the first 3 months of ownership, great roads all round!!
