Concerning the need for Coding:
The RNS510 defaults back to factory standards after upgrading with a "Factory CD". This means:
- Language will be German
- Speaker setup will be 4x 20W standard setup (no Soundsystem)
- Layout will be Highline (Silver/Black/red)
- unfortunately i do not know the default Coding for the Steering Wheel and MFD. It might cause problems with the Multifunction Steering Wheel and the Multfunction Display Plus if fitted.
As you can see from the above: The radio will work with basic settings. If you have Volkswagen Sound System or Dynaudio Sound System fitted this will not work without coding. Also it might cause pre-amp problems with the dynaudio and volkswagen sound system (not sure, just read that somewhere) if not coded right.
If you have no data on ur MFD this is a coding issue resulting from the upgrade.
If all these points work the way they did before u are fine without coding! Problem is, u will not know until you try, unless u can say: i have no soundsystem installed, my skin is highline and my MFD doesnt support the RNS anyway...
