Oh rite, i have spoken to a few people they say that they dont tend to fail...
Altho alex said earlier that they are total c**p and do mess up..
What did it cost from memory if you can?
I wonder if tps have one in stock... Just the valve yeh not the pipe?

I would have to ask the lad who done the job the parts costings but they had the part same day - said he's aware of the fault from working on A3s - "Common as muck" was his phrase.
TPS will normally confirm how many and how often they sell any part if you ask.

Ok, ile give them a call 1st thing..
I was intending a 7am start on the driveway of ripping the gearbox out again for further inspection!
Thankyou for your help and input.
I reqlly love this car and dont want to give up on it but its close very close.

Problem sorted :jumpmove:
I dropped the box out first thing! The shaft has loads of play....
Sourced and installed a second hand box and it has solved the issue!
I could not be happier...  :driver:
