DSG gear changing issue at high revs

To save trying to explain this any more than I need to, I've uploaded a video of my issue. In a nutshell, if I pull away at the lights at a normal pace, I have no problems. If I push the revs upl, the DSG struggles to find a gear and the Rev limiter and esp cuts in. Eventually the DSG either clunks in, or finds a gear after taking my foot off the accelerator to force the DSG to find a gear.

This happens in both drive and sport.

After reading a few forums, it sounds like it might be the mechatronic or cluck pack that's failing, but these seem to be on cars that experience judder or lag on steady acceleration. My acceleration is fine until it tries to find the gear in high revs!

Any ideas what's happening and rough cost for a repair?

Your exhaust and EPC lights come on. VCDS scan first, then go from there.

have you had the dsg service done? also might be worth getting a DSG reset done too if not already done

Thanks guys, I will be taking it to a garage tomorrow to get it sorted. Is it possible a reset and service could fix the issue (software issue) or is it more likely to be replacement parts?

I've only had the car since late last year and it's had full vw service stamps, so I would imagine a regular DSG service was carried out every 25k miles or at least once every 2 years

If I was you mate, if get the DSG box reset using VAGCOM and get it serviced. Even if you think it's been done, always worth you doing it while you own it, piece of mind then mate. Least you knows it's been done then

Thanks bud, I am having a full vw service towards the middle of this year, which will include that (at least ill ask if it doesn't).

In the mean time, I took it in today to a gearbox specialist, they said according to VAGCOM it's a power loss issue throughout the car, as there's loads of errors flagging up from power loss. So they're gonna check out the dash cam install I did (spurred onto rear wiper motor fuse) and hope I haven't knackered the ECU!
