After some advice please - what's a fair price for a complete engine incl turbo, injectors loom etc. BHZ with approx 80k miles in working order?

At 80K, i'd say around the £1200 mark for the full engine.

I bought a 2010 S3 CDL with 28K on it about a year and half ago, bare engine for £1500

That would be my best guess  :happy2:

So 1800 is a bit much for complete engine?

I suppose it's worth what someone's willing to pay....

At 80K i'd be looking for a better deal than £1800 personally

Tricky to say one lump on 80k would be better or worse than another on say 40k, assuming we're talking a few ton difference in asking price.

I'd be happier paying for a 80k engine that's proven to have had all the right TLC, proven to have done the stated miles, than a low miler that might seem a bit too good to be true but doesn't have receipts for oil and belts, and a verified mileage to back it up.

Don't get rushed into it, and try and find somewhere or somebody that's reliable in procuring good lumps with all the paperwork.

Yeah I've now dismissed the one I was looking at as it had no paper trail... I'll keep looking.

If anyone knows of a BHZ or CDL going then please let me know

Just took the words out of my mouth.

Was gonna say give the tuners a call - AKS, R-Tech, Statller.

I'm up at Statller soon for my clutch. Used them last year for a couple of bits. Very high level of expertise. And some unreal cars. Wonder how that 5 pot mk6 is coming along!
