Very annoying rattle
« on: March 04, 2016, 07:14:40 pm »
See video attached.. I've had it up on a ramp and a mechanic searching through whilst I've been revving but he can't seem to find anything? Any ideas? Anyone come across this? Cheers lads

Hi mate, yeah that doesn't seem to be the problem. Waste gate actuator sounds like a popular rattle?  :sad1:

Recent thread cited a loose fuel line under the bonnet. Bottom left as you look in. Just needed clipping back in.

I have this exact noise and its the turbo wastegate actuator rod. It has slight play in it. Theres a clip available for the tsi engines that solves it. With the FSI engines you have to take up the slack in the rod without overtightening it to overboost the turbo. Theres a long thread somewhere on another forum I'll try and find.

Firstly thank you for the update on sorting the issue out and secondly glad it's sorted out and I'll be sure to remember that if I have a problem like this.  :drinking:
