Why the N75 Boost Frequency Controller needed replacing...
« on: March 04, 2016, 11:13:00 pm »
Boost has dropped off to reaching only 15 psi until rpm's reached 5200 when boost would finally go up to 18 psi. Previous boost was built quickly to 20-21 psi at peak and 17-18 when leveling off.

We tested the Wastegate actuator and the N75 inline ports with vacuum and both held pressure in vac. Then I read the the resistance across the two prongs of the N75 should read 25 to 35 ohms. This one read 22 ohm. We replaced the N75 and boost is back up even better than before. It is now at 22-23 psi at peak and 18-20 when leveling. Just wanted to share the happy results  :drinking:

There are other symptoms of the N75 that could have been detrimental to its operation that we didn't find to be the case here...cracks in the N75 structure mainly. There was oil inside its ports that may have contributed to its electrical failure.

Additionally: there were never any codes...and MPG average had dropped a few from its norm.
