Replacing an MFD2 with a Pioneer/Kenwood
« on: March 05, 2016, 04:14:41 pm »
Hi all,

Probably the most common question on here but I can't find the specific answer I want. I've currently got an MFD2 with GPS in a 2005 gti. Looking to replace it with either a Pioneer AVIC-F70/F77DAB or a Kenwood DNX521/525DAB.
I have a couple of queries regarding this process though:

- Would either of them work with my current sharkfin GPS aerial?
- Would either of them require an updated CANbus?
- What are the DAB aerial options? I've heard bad things about just having it sitting in the glovebox, plus the usual debate about a windscreen mounted one. What do to the RNS510's etc use?

Thanks in advance for any help on this
