Yep. Very close in ride quality to standard springs.
If your dampers are already tired you might find the ride quickly gets crashy though. Fitted mine on what I assume to be original shocks on 69k, still good at 74k, but I'd imagine the ride could be improved slightly with new oem shocks or Bilsteins if it deteriorates in time.
I had a nightmare with springs on my old mk4 too. I put this down to the fact that the standard mk4 shocks are quite soft, standard springs were quite high, and so dropping the ride height by 40mm or so threw the dampers miles out of their normal travel and they were just getting compressed too much.
Different story on the mk5 GTI. Shocks are already quite firm, better damped, and handle a 30mm drop quite comfortably.
