Painting TTS engine cover - opinions
« on: February 20, 2016, 11:41:54 pm »
Have picked up a TTS engine cover and am considering getting it painted before fitting it to the car.

My car is candy white and think it would look a nice contrast having the cover in candy white (though could prove tricky to keep clean!)

Anyway I found an image of one in candy white on someone elses car and then mocked up an alternative version...

Out of interest which do people prefer? The black central panel is gloss black and I am thinking of adding a VW badge to it but not sure yet.

Looks better with the red trim in my opinion but both look tidy

As above, think the colour scheme in the image looks spot on

Yeah I realised the shape of the gloss black looked similar to the front grill.
Will look into either having it pinstriped or getting a red trim/tape to run along it.

Considered getting Edition 30 lettering in white on the gloss black too and then lacquered over the top.

About half way down this link is an idea of what it would look like with red line around it. It took me ages to be happy with it but really happy with the results. I wanted a really crisp line which is why it took so many attempts  :signLOL:
