My MPG seems to have decreased since I had the car serviced! I don't know how this is possible, maybe due to changing the type of oil used? I was on long life oil before but I think they changed it for just the regular type.

On my stage 1 R-TECH 06 GTI i normally get around 280 miles a tank if i let the light come on.

That is all around town stop start driving.

Average MPG per journey is normally about 28.

Not sure about motorway driving etc as i never do it.

In my ownership I'm averaging 35mpg over the last 11k miles according to my app for my GTI with DSG.
Best tank average being 43mpg when I got my best range of 430 miles.
I normally average around 370 miles to a tank.

I drove to Portsmouth and back (450 miles) & scraped 42mpg, that was properly trying with 0% driving enjoyment. It was pointless other than to report back the MPG figure   Best every in my GTI.
I never saw 400 miles to a tank, probably just under on the best ever. Usually, 300 was realistic.

I used to average 32mpg per tanks usually, 27mpg around town.

Now in my TDI A3 Black Edition CR170, if I batter it and try for low MPG, I can't get below those kinna figures    It did 27.2mpg over half a tank on the first track day I ever did  :signLOL:

What mpg do you get on a normal drive in the A3?

Taking it easy can get about 35  and about 20 when driving normal :jumping: but if I was worried about mpg I would use my motorbike for work or buy a ford fiesta or Nissan micra and not own a gti haha, the gti is still far better on mpg then my bmw  whether nursing it or putting my foot down.

My mpg will probably change soon as looking to get it mapped in the next week or two  :happy2:

Got a decent 36mpg on an 80 mile motorway run this morning, including some bad traffic on the M25. Could definitely be worse than the GTI!

The best I ever got was 34mpg which was when I was on my way to get it mapped after that never saw anything over 24mpg. Usually used to get 15-20mpg.

Have just filled up after 370miles, still had another 35 available! By far the best I've had from the GTI so far. That was mainly motorway miles but with one high speed cross country blast (about 15miles or so). Quite happy with that!
