Which Tyres?

Recommended tyres?

I need two front tyres

Been advised to get the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's as they are so called 'sticky'...?

PS4 are available now and they should be better. Of course Super Sports are even better.

Basically what Rich said above ^
Though you could add Conti SC5s to the list as well

I would stay away from the conti sport contact 5 I've  had them on for about 6000 miles,  was getting a puncture fixed today and was told they have only another 1000-2000 miles left

What's people's thoughts on hankook ventus v12 evo 2

I had them on my a3 and thought they were great but I'm not sure what they would be like on the gti

Wouldn't recommend the Goodyear F1 2s. They give excellent grip but it's ruined the steering feel. Don't know about the Goodyear F1 3s, but I won't be buying Goodyears again.

It's either Bridgestone or Michelin PS2/4 next for me. Contis have an all round poor review for wear, so they're off the list as well.

I'm sure I saw on another thread that the SuperSports had a lifetime of about 5k though? Unless I have completely dreamed that up which is likely lol.
If the guy above has done 6k and been told another 1k left on his SC5's, much better wear than the SS.

Sorry for hijacking.
I need a set of tyres for my b6 A4 avant. (1.8t Quattro)
Any suggestions? Not interested in sticky stuff. As this is my DD. Would prefer low road noise, good wet grip and decent fuel consumption. :))

I really like my Goodyear Eagle F1s. Good for economy, little to no road noise my my A3 8P, good handling characteristics in the wet. Had Conti CS3s previously, and whilst I liked them a lot the Goodyears are better in my opinion.

I like the Pirelli PZero. great tyre, great feel and direct steering wheel response - just don't last very long.

The Bridgestone Potenza S001 looks to be a nice performance tyre?  Reviews look good even thought it is an old tyre now.

+1.  Hated the F1s and glad to see the back of them.

PS4s have transformed the car, so much so, they feel like a factory fit tyre in the way it steers and feels keyed into the road.   F1s are very wishy washy Captain vague.

How long did the PS4's last you?
