Nope, I'm running H&R springs and in the past 6 months of having them I haven't had a single issue.
If you have to ask why, you'll never understand.

This is 30 mil drop with H&R springs looks spot on and on SteveP's car only gets a bit of rubbing on severe compression's. and his wheels are the same size and spec of the monza's  :happy2:
I would say if you lower the same amount or 5 mil more, add to that the coils instead on standard shocks, and you should not get any rubbing.  :happy2:

Cheers top cat, as well as the b16s ive also been offered a set of B12s . I know they are not the coilovers but ive got the chance of these at a great price too, so again i was thinking of ditching the VWRs for these as this would free up a bit of cash for other mods. The B12s are dampers and H&R Springs they drop the car about 30mm, I dont like the sound of some rubbing though ! although i would imagine with the shortend dampers and the fact they are designed for the golf this would eliminate this.
The B12s have the same damper technology as the B16 and are supposed to be more comfortable on the road, Obviously not as good on the track but still hugely capable.

really not sure now VWRs, B16s at a good price or B12s at a great price which will give me more cash for future mods ???????
