thast great news. im mega into the BTCC never miss a race. good to see AMD have moved into here as well. they have a good basis as well from running the leons in the dunlop sportmaxx cup(think thats what it is called), so its not as if they have had to learn a new platform.

come on the VAGs in BTCC. is gordon shedden be in the leon again in april then

just read this in that link

I actually never realised that, TBH i never looked to much into the engine regs. i just thought the car had to be readily available in show rooms to be a viable contender for the title, and no more than 300hp.

Quote
Engine
New S2000: Based on road-going unit with a minimum production of 2500 units. Maximum capacity 2000cc
Old BTCC: Based on a road-going unit with a minimum production of 2500 units. Engine can come from a different model in the range as long as its maximum capacity is 2000cc
Quote
Other engine regulations
New S2000: No turbocharging or forced induction. Engine block and cylinder head must be as fitted to standard production model
Old BTCC: No turbocharging or forced induction. Engine block and cylinder head must be as fitted to standard production model
Im presumin they are using the 2.0 FSI engine then

will change in 2011, new rules replacing S2000 ruling., cars will be turbo charged

i've read that Pinkney and Jordan Jnr will be driving turbocharged Vectras in the 2010 BTCC campaign?

But the rule change is in 2011...wierd.

NGTC rules come in next year allowing turbo charged engines - There will be a "Generic" 2.0 turbo lump available to all teams to use rumored to be built by GM.

However some teams have been given dispensation to run the turbo units - Pinkney and Andrew Jordan are running vectras privately this year with the new turbo lumps.

Incidentally S2000 BTCC rules state the cars should be 4/5 Door - hence dynamics running the 5 door civic. They must have got dispensation from BTCC to run the 3 door chassis (like sunshine.co.uk have with their integras).
