I get about 32mpg per tank according to trip 2 which I always re-set when I fill up, which is meaning about 360-370 out of a tank of 98-99.  Round town it varies from 25-29 mpg generally always in D, but with climate, heated seats, and I guess the xenons will suck up a little more juice as well.

But I will say ive only had the car 2 months, so I am still enjoying pressing the happy pedal, every time the engines warmed up  :grin:

One thing I have noticed is that I put Shell V power in the last 2 tanks and at 80 the computer shows a 2-3mpg improvement or tesco 99 needle at 78-79 on cruise in D mode, not sure if this is the sign of a better fuel, or just change in atmospheric conditions?

most i have ever seen was 47.7 on a trip from manchester to brighton and i get this on a regular basis on that long trip...funnily enough i get 38mpg on the way back up  :signLOL:

the least being 12.2mpg

my average is around....19/20

i dont drive my car to work, i get to drive it about twice a week...so when i get in it i never feel like a gental cruise haha.

 :confused: ... and I thought 41.7 was bl00dy good!!

Long term I'm at 26.7, but I do really short trips Mon-Fri and I'm usually too impatient/running late to do the '60 in 6th' thing on a motorway.

It has to be said though, if MPG is your thing, buy a diseasel....

I saw 40's once in my Stg2 GTI but too be honest it was boring  :wink:

Managed 59.9 in the remapped mk4 25th Anniversary once - rubbish busy roads with average speed cameras made it a slow journey - about 130miles in the end.

My 5-6mile trip out in the new Golf R today say 13mpg  :grin:

My GTI has DSG and I usually get about 300 to 330 miles to a tank. The best I have got is about 400 and 35 MPG on a long trip abroad. I cannot get near VW official figures usually.

since its been cold my mpg has dropped a good 3-4mpg. most i have ever seen is 41.3mpg  :driver: most boring drive of my life!!!
