Wing Rust - Prevention
« on: March 28, 2016, 01:04:39 pm »
Read  lots of posts about the rusty wing problem being caused by the foam soundproofing holding water / rubbing on wing etc. There is a VW bulletin covering repairs, but does anyone know if VW will carry out the modification FOC to prevent the problem occurring? I'm not as young as I used to be  :sad1:, ha ha  , and groveling around under wheel arches, getting bad tempered aint that appealing.

No rust on my 05 at the moment, but the 12 year cut off is getting very near. Only had the car 3 weeks - 32,000 miles

Cheers

A body shop will do it for you and get them to wax inside the wings
