RNS 510 / MDI and I-Touch Ipod Problems

Can anyone help me on this problem.ive got  a version B RNS 510 with an MDI kit and a 32gb Ipod Touch, I noticed the other day when i was happily driving along that i got to the end of one song and let it continue to the next and the RNS 510 still displayed the previous song so did the highline computer in MDI mode yet it was playing the next track! WTF??? has anyone got any ideas or had this and resolved it????  :confused:

I've only every seen it once. Next time I plugged my ipod in it was fine

There is a firmware update out for the MDI floating around somewhere, but I've never installed it as I couldn't find out what problems it resolved
