Temperature gauge hunts

Hi guys... Temperature gauge doesn't reach 90 and hunts around.... Doesn't settle for long in one place. Temp sensor or thermostat?

best to get both done at same time.. both can be culprits and in my experience one isn't far behind the other when it comes to failure.

Thought as much! I love it when they put a perishable part deep in the depths of the engine.... Inspired!
