Best pressure washer?
« on: April 04, 2016, 09:44:54 am »
Any frequent pressure washer users on here?

Which one is best?  I've had Karchers and Nilfisks completely fail on me, repeatedly.  Getting fed up with the schitt quality being churned out these days tbh - from respected brand names! - so don't mind paying over the odds for something that will last!  Any recommendations?

My Nilfisk E140.2 has failed - twice.  Motor unit burned out on both occasions. Utter garbage.  I thought they were supposed to be the best because they still use metal pumps, unlike the Karcher plastic rubbish?

Kranzle?

Yeah they look a bit more robust.  Not cheap though!

I have a Karznle 1150T and it is about 6-7 years old and its been great thus far. They are more expensive, but you do get what you pay for.  With a Kranzle you can service them right down to washer in the middle of the pump, where with a Karcher, they are made in the 'throw-away' society, so but that works out more expensive.

Cheers guys.  The Kranzle 1050 TST looks like an equivalent to my dead Nilfisk, which comes in at £430 direct from their site, which isn't toooooo bad I suppose.

Nilfisk was £280 in 2013 and it went back for a new pump twice over a year.  Dug it out of the shed over the weekend to clean the missus's patio.  Worked fine.  Took it round to mine to blast my patio the same day, and it was dead.  It's out of warranty and I'm not paying for a new pump assembly, not worth it given how unreliable it's been.

I wonder if infrequent use is what kills off the cheaper brands?

more than likely if you keep it in the shed, and it freezes over the winter period, kills it

Lovely.  I'll keep the new one wrapped up in a duvet in the house then!

lol, or try to dry it out fully somehow so that the pump is not full of water, so that if it freezes, since water expands when it freezes, cracking the pump....

Interestingly my karcher K3 packed up this weekend, I found it quite large and top heavy, the slightest pull on the hose and it would fall over. Gone for a K2 this time, much smaller and manageable and more than enough pressure to clean most things. Much cheaper too !
