Nothing's happened on the golf as waiting the body shop still. Went to pick up my bits today as they have had then three weeks to only find they are just starting on them.

No news on the VW claim for the front wings, been 10 weeks so ordered a set of new pre painted wings off eBay whilst I do intercooler change and fit the ed30 splitter.

Hopefully get all my bits for nest weekend.

Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the intercooler install. I'm hoping to be able to afford one soon and then that'll be the next big mod  Fingers crossed

May try to get it done this weekend if it stays dry but it is a bank holiday weekend.

Managed to order a set of R32 side skirts in primer so body shop are painting them the same time as my other bits.

You're Merc was lovely
Navara is super practical. I had one when I lived in Australia. 16 years ago!! I really am getting old :ashamed:

Shame the Merc had a reliable auto box that does not come up malfunction warnings every so often. Will be great getting back in a manual.

Went to the body shop this morning after they text me for my paint code yesterday and the barstewardss were closed. They said they were painting them this morning.

Waited for a dry spell and removed my sill trims.

Got the toffee wheel out to remove the remains of the double sided tape.

All done ready for my painted ones to be fitted.

Almost finished the other side before it started pissing it down.

Got my eBay pre painted wings delivered. Paint job is good and looks a close match. Will see how they fit.

Looking at the weather Sunday will be a washout so should be ok on Monday to get some more done.

Sun was out this morning so got on the golf.

Started to strip down the front end.

Drivers side wing removed.

Rust on the sill and under wing lower mount.

Sprayed some metal ready to sort the rust out and cracked on with the other side

Less rust on the sill this time.

Scrap parts collection is getting bigger.

Rust is sorted now and just covered it in primer and touch up just overnight in case it rains.

Trial fitted the wings and should not take a lot to get to fit.

Managed to get a bit further on the sills.

Couple of coats of paint sprayed on. Paint is slightly darker but not really noticeable.

Four coats of clear and a bit of blending. Not come out to bad. Will give it a good polish tomorrow.

By no means perfect but looks a great deal better than the rust.

Shame about the rust issues as it kind of spoils the car really. Had less rust on my mk2 golfs.

Cracked on with the wings.

Bonnet lines are on just the colour is a little off but works out cheaper for me to get these and fit them then get the bodyshop to blow them over when the sides get painted.

Passenger side wing fitted fine and all lines up.

Drivers needs some adjustments on the top by the a pillar as it sits a little high but should be able to sort it.

Great work man. Mad props.
Wish i had the balls and patience to do this on my drive. Before hour 2 someone from inside would probably come running out asking why i crashed the car.

Congrats dude

11/10 for effort on the sills, mine would benefit but not sure I'm brave enough!  :congrats:
