Hawk HPS Front Pads
« on: January 11, 2010, 08:39:04 pm »
How do Hawk HPS front Pads compare to the VWR front pad set (£99 or so iirc)?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180421799059&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

They're roughly the same price and I wondered if there's a preference on one or the other? I've not driven a car that uses either of them.

Thanks.
Pete

Haha, they're so ghetto  :jumpmove:

I'll have a read, thanks.
Any idea whether the VWR's are 'better'?

I'll be running no more than 250bhp with no extra weight than standard, Mk5 GTI

Yeah I spoke to Nath about them Matt, ta  :happy2:

That's true. Thought I'd ask for comparison sakes though. Cheers.

^ Cool guys, ta.

Would the ceramic pads be noticeably better do you think?
I don't know much about ceramic brakes but I expect the life of them is substantially shorter, thus replacement is required more frequently?

Ceramics are good, but you can't run them on a used disc - otherwise they'll judder like hell!

Lifespan isn't anything to worry about, you'll not rinse through them on the road.
Sideways yo!

it dependds on how you drive..
HPS are a bit stronger than our stock pads, Hp+ are like DS2500, thay make nose and dust. Ive got ds2500. and they are very nosy, but I don;t care, someone thinks it is annoying

Cheers
