Kenwood DNX520VBT no iphone sound
« on: April 08, 2016, 08:43:49 pm »
Hi all
I've just fitted a Kenwood DNX520VBT last weekend must say seems to be a good little unit for the price I paid. I connected my iPhone 5 to it via the USB all the track info comes up on the screen & I can change the track on the screen but I'm getting no sound. The sound it turned up on my iPhone.
Has anybody else experienced this?
Cheers

I had one that I sold a few weeks ago - are you using the original Kenwood cable? It has a usb and a plug for the headphone bit

It's a pretty chunky cable, one of the reasons I sold it.

No I was using the apple cable.
So I guess I need a jack plug type cable to get the sound?

Yes. You are pretty much stuck to using the Kenwood cable for sound and functionality - annoying as its a very thick one. I used USB mini sticks, the tiny ones you get in Maplin. Looked better and avoided the cable.
