VW Service - Checks?
« on: July 11, 2016, 11:35:52 am »
Booked in for a VW service and MOT

The website mentions they do various checks also but doesn't state what.

Any idea if the DV and Cam follower are included in these checks?

Thanks.

Their checks are standard ones they mainly do becuase it means they're likely to get more money from you..

Checks include the likes of brakes, tyres, coolant/brake/steering/oil levels, rusting on underbody/exhaust/mechanical suspension items etc.

It's nothing you couldn't do yourself and is for the sort of person that doesn't pay their car much attention.

They will NOT check your DV/PCV for you. It will cost you money to get these done.. Basic DV check is if you get the boost error code or if you feel it doesn't pull right and PCV can be checked by leaving car on and removing dipstick, if the car doesn't start spluttering then PCV is on it's way out.
