« on: April 10, 2016, 08:57:30 pm »
Well thought i would dig my service book out and put the dates etc in it when it was done, but now can't find it and infact i can't even remember the last time i paw it
So how do i go about getting a new wallet with all the sections in when you get the car from new and most importantly the service stamps from vw.Also would it have the sticker like in the boot in the service folder

I managed to get my service book covered in oil so went looking for a replacement one. If you get just a service book from the dealer it'll have "replacement" stamped across all pages and I didn't want that. The only way to get a service book with out the replacement stamp is to buy the whole book pack. This is unavailable now for MK5 (unless a dealer somewhere happens to have one on the shelf somewhere) but I think MK6 book packs are available but not sure if the service book is the same as mk5. Probably best bet is to keep an eye on eBay. The sticker is something you'd need to recreate with photoshop. In the end I managed to clean my service book up ok so I left it
Go to a VW dealer who will be able to get its history up on their computer then either send the book or turn up and ask the relevant dealer to re stamp your new book

Forgot to ask... Is the one in the second link the exact same as the one in the first link?

No, the second cheaper link is a "generic" VW replacement that covers most VW models.

The expensive one is specific to the Golf and much "rarer".

I have the cheap one, it looks genuine and use it because my original book is full now.

In regards to filling in a new service book whether its genuine replacement or an original empty one such as in the first link. Will VW only have on record services they have carried out or are they likely to have scanned or copied in other details that other garages have carried out?

The dealer will have a record of all the services they have done but if it's had the service done at different dealers you have to go each one for the stamp in the book

Thanks for your help :happy2: Still got some digging to to get in contact with previous owners to find out garages etc to see if they would be willing to re-stamp a fresh book. Cheers guys
