cooling fan problem
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:58:50 am »
So ive had an ongoing issue with cooling for a while now, but during the winter months it doesnt actually affect me. Now the warmer weather has arrived (temporarily) im starting to have problems.

Basically if the car is stationary in traffic or parked up and running the temp eventually creeps up above 90 towards 100. The cooling fans are not coming on.

About 3 months ago i changed the main thermostat and both temp sensors in a hope this might solve the problem but the fans are still not coming on, and the engine is getting pretty warm (gets up to 103 in VCDS).

Now i dont think the fans are actually broken because i can activate them in VCDS and they fire up. Also, when the temp does get up this high, if i switch the engine off the fans come on!

I dont know what to try now. Im fitting a Peron cooler as soon as AKS get stock in so the whole font end will be off. Might be the time to do something.

Any advice?
