Can I ask why the engines coming out?.

I'd say definitely get them done although you're running out of budget it's worth doing whilst everything is accessible

Been told the Revo vibrate too much which is why two sellers sold the complete set for £200 but I didn't buy them because of the poor reviews from others. no offence to anyone.

You obviously like it a little on the spongy side... it happens with age.

Function over form for me. I'm very pleased with the performance per pound value the Revo mounts offer tbf.

I wouldn't say the vibratechnics will be as spongy but wouldn't want too much internal vibration either. smooth but stern

I'll be getting some soon enough. I have the lower mount to fit and will totally remove the oem bushes as I don't like the engine wobble

I've had all 3 Vibratechnics mounts (fast road flavour) in MK2s, Corrados and a MK4 R32.  They transmitted vibration and gearbox whine into the cabin on all 3 cars, so I'm a bit reluctant to go down that road on the MK5, especially as it's an expensive upgrade to be potentially disappointed with.

The 034 Motorsport density line get mixed reviews, and I think the VWR ones are rebranded Vibratechnics with stiffer inserts?

What to do?! It's a road car, so needs to be refined

I'm still on OEM engine and gearbox mounts with both lower from Vibratechnics. The OEM bushes have 39k miles, 2k since remapped, so they're still in good shape. I can't complain about this setup. When I need to replace the OEM bushes I'll take in consideration their lifetime to see if it's worth to upgrade to Vibratechnics as well.

If you want OEM 'refinement" then OEM bushes are the only way to go.

People say that aftermarket engine mounts wear in and become less harsh/noisy. In reality what happens is the person just gets used to them. I have sat in cars with engine mounts and they do vibrate quite a lot more than OEM.

So... for race/track... yep, engine mounts no question.
        for road... unless you can live with the noise and vibration stick to OEM.

I am the fussiest man alive when it comes to NVH    OEM is way too soft, aftermarket way too stiff, but it's subjective.  I can see why VW fit such soggy engine mounts because their engines aren't the smoothest.

What about OEM diesel or MK6, or even MK7 mounts?  Any improvements?  Weird thing is, when I ever I drive MK7 rental cars, I don't even notice the engine mounts.  When ever I drive mine, I am very aware of the motor flopping about.  I've got the Vibratechnics dogbone setup and OEM sides.

I've read in PPC mag that you can fill the voids in new OEM ones with liquid rubber or soft poly which is apparently a good compromise.  Might try that one day.
