Air Conditioning Not Blowing Cold
« on: May 09, 2016, 12:12:31 pm »
Just scanned with VCDS and have the following readout:
Address 08: Auto HVAC        Labels: 1K0-907-044.lbl
   Part No: 1K0 907 044 BA
   Component: ClimatronicPQ35 066 0606
   Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000
   VCID: 67DDFFA0566B9406DF-8032

1 Fault Found:
00819 - High Pressure Sensor (G65)
009 - Open or Short to Ground

Only noticed in the last few weeks that it hasn't been blowing cold. Any idea where to start?

I can hear a fan blowing on the passenger side under the cowel whilst the air con is on.

I've booked my service with VW for next week to save me the hassle with my current workload. Should I get them to regas the system or am I better off going for an independent?

Pretty common.  The sensor was about £40 last time I had to get one.  Should work again after replacing it and clearing the code.  I can't remember if the outlet has a Schrader valve under the sensor or not.  If not, the A/C system will need a vacuum drain and refill.

For those wanting to know @r5gtt @Peskyjones.

I had my aircon gassed today.

Total volume required = 525g
Amount in car = 310g
So they topped up with 215g but no sign of any cold air leading me to believe it is in fact the G65 sensor.

Considering this might be an inline sensor I didn't want to risk losing the gas so I had him remove the entire contents of it, I'll then either fit a G65 myself or have VW do it this Friday along with my service.

If anyone has fitted a G65 before and has a general how to, that would be very helpful!

Sorry to hear that mate. they are meant to drain all gas out ans do a full regas not half bake the fecking job  :stupid: idiots.

You need a crows foot do remove the sensor and as all your gas has been drained it should be easier to do as no gas will leak out. maybe a quick hiss but that's about it. not sure of the size crows foot as I have a few 16mm being the largest and I'm sure the sensor nut is bigger.  not really looked so can't be 100%
