A sad day for a GTI Owner
« on: May 07, 2016, 07:39:43 pm »
Hi folks, so today was the day that I sold me beloved GTI. 5 years and 3 months to the day since I bought it. I had it before I even met my wife and have in fact spent more money on modding it than I have on buying my wife presents including her wedding ring... I have went over to the dark side and got a people carrier... With one kid here and another planned it seemed like a wise move. I feel sadder now however than when I have been at past relationship breakups...

I just wanted to say a big thanks to you all who have helped me a great deal over the years of ownership. It thru using this forum that I learnt about modding and general car maintenance. You advice has been invaluable so I thank you greatly. For those starting out in the GTI journey I am envious and remember the excitement that you will no doubt be feeling. Anyway enough of my ramblings. Thanks again.

Two kids here....and only just bought a GTI. They both fit in just fine, along with all their associated junk. Get the GTI back, quick! ;)

Hope it was a 3 door

A 5 door would have been more than adequate

As above, 2 young kids, went from a TDI 5 door to a GTI 3 door. You have made a terrible mistake

I changed from a tt to a mk5 gti because of the same situation not that I wanted to but the gti is a great car depending on how old the kids are and how many pushchairs you need as the baby stuff take up a lot of space. good luck with your new choice of motor.

I know the deed is done, but the Octavia VRS Estate has a truly massive boot. Had one for a couple of years when the kids were very little and it was more than big enough without having to resort to a people carrier!
