I'm sure it's the same as the replica ( http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/product_info.php?cPath=1_35_263&products_id=8  ) in which case just unscrew your present aerial and replace it with the Sharan one.

Yep, I've got that one off ebay and it is absolutely fine, a good improvement over the standard aerial, and no reception problems.

that aint cheap - ebay is your friend for this £8.75 delivered - works well and no problem with reception either  :happy2:

I just got that one delivered this morning but not entirely happy with it as it does not sit flush with the base..... :sad1: there is a gap of about 5mm between bottom part of sharan ariel and base....although some people might not be bothered by that i'm not sure it looks right.

other than that it works fine but having said that if i dont put the Sharan or orignal ariel on the base my car still seems to pick up reception just as good.... :surprised:

if the gap still annoys me after a few days i'm just leave the ariel off since i'm still getting reception to the only stations i listen to Rinse fm and talksport.

Im not sure if this is the problem with yours but i had this problem on another car i changed my ariel on but..................................

Make sure that the threaded part of the Sharan ariel is not too long and bottoming out on the short thread of the standard ariel mount. If it is simply cut a few mm from the sharan stubby thread,

let me know if this has worked please, if not im thinking of the s2000 ariel now

Yep, if you compare your standard aerial to the Sharan replacement you will notice that the threaded piece on the standard aerial is much shorter, so you need to lop off 3 or 4mm for it to sit flush.
