MFD2 firmware
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:25:28 pm »
Hi folks. Is there a way of checking the firmware to see if its the latest version and if not how do i do it? The car has full VW service history so is it something they would have done?

If you didn't pay for it, I highly doubt VW would upgrade the firmware FOC. There are DIY online on how to upgrade and have up to date maps.

There is MFD2 CD version (I believe black buttons)
I had this fitted to my car and good luck with firmware / maps
I did find a recent version of maps but no firmware at all.

There is also MFD2 DVD version (I believe silver buttons)
This is easier to find firmware and maps to download
I found loads but obviously not for my unit.

I upgraded unit to RNS510 latest version
Much better all round :D
