Alarm and central locking woes
« on: May 09, 2016, 09:25:36 pm »
Since I have had my car (nearly 2 years) the alarm horn has never worked as confirmed by VCDS, I have never actually got round to fixing it but it's been on my long term todo list!

More recently the offside rear door has refused to lock, I'm guessing this is a door lock module? But since soaking it in silicone spray it seems to be temporarily fixed for now.

I have just scanned the car and 2 new fault codes have appeared:

3 Faults Found:

01135 - Interior Monitoring Sensors
            004 - No Signal/Communication
00323 - Vehicle Inclination Sensor (G384)
            004 - No Signal/Communication
01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
            004 - No Signal/Communication

I have no idea why the interior monitoring and vehicle inclination sensors have just suddenly died? Is this likely to be related to the door lock module or the alarm horn? Is there a fuse for these I can check?

Exactly the same codes I have.

Replace the horn under the right hand side wheel arch trim and clear the codes job done.
You'll need a drill to pop those rivers holding the alloy box cover that houses the siren in.

Nice one, so replacing the alarm horn got rid of all 3 codes?

It's all related to the one so now I've replaced the siren the fault codes have all gone.

Haha yeah I've got those 3 fault codes too.   How much was a new siren fella?

I ordered a new one from ebay (in China) for under £30

Probably over double that from the stealers!

I was silly and picked up a used one for £25 when I could have just paid for a new one too  :stupid: .
Stealers want £110 for the thing.

Better to go Chinese cheapo as it will do same job and one third of the price.

Hmmmm, sod the dealer's price!  Can prob get it down to £90ish with mates rates tho.  But still, I keep reading (on this forum) loads of instances of the bloody thing going off randomly anyway, so the fact the siren is broken is probably a good thing

It only goes off randomly due to the internal batteries leaking frying the circuit board inside and then one day no sound and just flashing lights like mine did.
