The droning points to unbalanced camber setting even though they are @ 1.8 either side. from what I've learned setting the rear camber at work with customers cars is that you can't ever get them bang on with having other issues with the tyres like you said toothing or uneven tread pattern and inner tyre wear. I'll see if I can find old receipt of the settings ad people thought there was an issue but for the two years after having it done I have no tyre issues or cracking with the tyres. too much camber on the inner is pushing the tyres out causing the cracks. someone tell me otherwise.

The droning is absolutely doing my head in, I'm going to swap them onto the front soon anyway to see if they are quieter.

It's more the cracking that I'm interested in, I've never seen tyres so that unless they are really old.
I've seen hundreds and in worse off condition to yours. An old lady came into where i work last month and her tyres were over 5mm but badly cracked and she was telling that the tyres were on well over 4 years so understandable but yours are one year old so somethings not right.
