My new gti
« on: May 12, 2016, 07:38:21 pm »
Just brought a new gti. I wanted to modify it a bit any ideas and when I checked for fault codes one came up reading sensor reference voltage A low what is it . No lights are on dash and car drives perfect so it's not affecting the car but what is it[/URL[/URL[/URL[/URL

I quite like the wheels, looks a fine example. My advice would be to carry out any preventative maintenance items first before you start modding it. Full service, HPFP cam follower etc. Good luck with the car!  :happy2:

I agree with @Octoparrot carry out maintanence work first like PCV, diverter valve, cam follower, servicing etc. No idea what your fault is but if you have a look on here for the fault code you might get an idea once you get the fault code via VCDS:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Fault_Codes

Then would be a good base to mod - If you go for cosmetics externally my choice would be to colour code the black plastics and maybe change the wheels if you don't like the look. Internally you could do things like head unit upgrade to RNS510 (With canbus change if required) and highline dash upgrade and MFSW buttons.

Performance mods a good start would be stage 1 (R-Tech are one of the most recommended guys for remaps) and a exhaust system (BCS and Miltek seem to be the most preferred options I found) the rest is up to you how far you want to go

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your slippery slope of modding your GTI!

Divertor valve as yours could look like this.  :surprised:
fits around the right hand side if the engine on the turbo at the rear

My favourite item or items are gear box mount check and replace if required. usually tell when your car judders when taking up drive but could also be the dog mount under the car so that should be checked too.

Spark plugs BKR7EIX platinum if the vw haven't replaced the standard ones on the service as this is usually replaced on a full service only. if they are okay leave them. console bushes are front wishbone rear bushes and could also be torn so good idea to check those or have them checked.
Mine were torn so replaced with after market polyurethane bushes. now feels more solid and less bouncy and a lot less like the cars in flight.

TPS is probably your best bet mate - if you ask them for those parts they SHOULD be able to help (my local TPS however sent me a sun visor clip instead of a cam follower though after they originally thought i was talking about a cam belt kit and they had never heard of cam follower  )
