Centre tyre wear
« on: May 12, 2016, 09:18:48 pm »
Had the car serviced last month at VW I was advised the front tyres were worn on the centre and it could possibly be that they were over inflated . i removed the NS front tyre today when carrying out some maintenance to discover the centre of the tyre is pretty much bold.Q is there anything other than tyre pressure that could cause the tyres to wear in the centre. When I purchase new tyres id like them to last as long as possible .

Cheers r5gtt
The over inflated tyre in the table looks like mine lol .
I think the previous owner was a bit trigger happy with the air .

nothing else other than over inflation will cause the centre wear  you have buy yourself a pressure gauge so you don't rely on garages gauges and I'd check the rears quick as chances are their high as well  :happy2:

No worries Bo! it's something that a lot of car owners do and not realise.  The amount of over inflated tyres I've found at work is crazy.  :signLOL:

Good brand so I'm sure it will be fine to use.
