My winter set up
« on: January 14, 2010, 08:31:01 pm »
I have had my track wheels for ages now, and intended on using them for winter wheels as well. The fact that they would have track tyres on as well didn't bother me as the car only comes out in the winter to keep it moist.  :rolleye:
Anyhows DaveB mentioned that he had some old tyres that had a bit of tread left on that would do instead of the expensive track tyres for the winter.
So i goes up to his and they are nearly new  :stupid: defo thousands of miles left on them, should see me through 5 winter's easy with my miles.  :pomppomp:

He didnt want a penny for them  :notworthy:  So all i can say is thankyou very much DaveB your a star.  :star:

So they went on, and were only bought for function, nothing else but i have to say in white they look particularity gash.
And to be honest they look better in the pics than real life.

Half way through the swap gives a good comparison, and compared to the works, they look like Halfords specials.  :signLOL:

And just after fitting.  Still needed to settle a bit at this stage.

But the thing i find amazing is they fitted over the 360 discs.  :surprised:
I had to get the wheel weights put on the inside of the rim or it wouldn't fit.  :driver:

The spec of the wheels is 17"  7.5j 45 offset which means i can now go a lot lower if i want  :jumping:
And i wasn't expecting such a difference to be honest in the handling. It feels like a bloody go-kart with these on and the turn in is so precise and fast.

Nah! not feeling the look i'm afraid, will be going on for every track day though. The cool kids wouldn't be cool if fudydudies like me didn't make them look cool.  :driver:

Only kidding - I could milk this for ages but I needed the space!!!!!!

Glad you're happy and also happy they did indeed inflate, there was a good chance they wouldn't!!!!!!!!!!

Only missing part of the puzzle is some pads for the summer........

{[[Errhhhmmmm/////    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180454852067&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT   Errhhhmmmm///// ]]}}

Could be an interesting option to swap the P Zero assymetricos to the front for track work. My only reasoning for suggesting this is with them being P Zero and ending in a vowel they are obviously fast and sexy (Ferrari, Lamborghini Audi)

Speaking of audis signed up for a Posh Golf today collect it end of the month 57 Plate Phantom Black Manual S3

I feel posher already  - bought mi'sen another ferret to celebrate

PS MY Phaeton HELIOS 19's up for grabs PM me if you're interested

Cheers Dave.  :happy2:

Dont worry about the P Zero's not being on the front, these tyres wont see any track action.  :happy2:

How much are those pads worth then Dave, how much do you think my max bid should be, i have not got a clue.  :ashamed:

always amazes me how much difference a set of wheels makes to the look of a car, not sure about the white rims to be honest, maybe they'll be a grower, but they do really change the way the car looks. Maybe its because I'm a big fan of your posh wheels :happy2:
