my car was mot'd a couple of weeks ago by VW.no problems. no mention of tints. though i do believe it only affects mot if windscreen is tinted. mine is just the two fronts & rears.

....I thought that it's only from behind the B pillars which aren't effected by the law.

I'm not registered with my car in UK but when i went last time to the RR day in Surrey i got pulled over from some cops,
who wanted to immobilise my car because my windscreen was tinted so i had to remove them on the place but i dunno if they
were allowed to ask me to do this coz i'm actually only a tourist over here btw i m registered in Luxembourg.
For the 2 front windows they checked it with a machine which showed the how many light i will let trough but i failed again xD .. but i ould drove away without any fine but the windscreen tint removed =(. They told me if i were registered in the uk they could take the MOT away and fine me a 70£ . hope it helps

Why wouldn't they be allowed to make you do it. Whilst you are in the UK then you have to adhere to the UK road laws.
Probably did you a favour anyway as your car is safer now that you can see better through the front windscreen.

Following the uk road laws is one thing! xD ... try my best but actually i see less now coz when it is too bright and it its even more dangerous when the sun is shining on wet surface when there is reflection =) but i dont see how british car are following rules in france for example xD ... i see only flashing light from speed camera in france when british registered cars are speeding trought them hahaha
